Policies and Procedures

It is assumed that you have read and agreed to all policies and procedures outlined below prior to scheduling any appointments or services.

Payment
Nails and Grooming Services:
I accept cash, Venmo, and Paypal for all nail service appointments. In order to maintain affordable pricing, I do not accept credit cards as payment for these appointments at this time.

$50 nonrefundable scheduling fee will be required for any appointment in which the estimated total is to exceed $100. This fee will be applied to the final balance owed after services are rendered. The fee is nonrefundable and non transferable should the appointment be cancelled or rescheduled. This fee is due within 24 hours of booking in order to hold your appointment. Payment is accepted through Venmo or can be paid via texted invoice.

Any payment made by credit card is subject to a service fee.

Drop In Visits:
For 1 day reservations: Payment is due within 24 hours of the scheduled visit. Cash, Venmo, and credit card payments accepted.

Multi day reservations: a 50%, NON REFUNDABLE scheduling fee is due at the time of booking or within 24 hours of your consultation. The remainder of the balance is due within 24 hours of the last drop in visit of your reservation. Cash, venmo, or credit card is accepted for these payments. An invoice can be sent to pay online via credit card with applicable service fee.

Appointments
I try my very best to stay on time. However, I do provide a mobile service. Both animals and traffic can be unpredictable. Some pets may require more time and attention to complete the requested services than others. I always work on their time and give each pet the time that they need to feel safe and secure. Often, I do run early because I try to schedule extra time for these circumstances. I will contact you if I am running more than 10 minutes early or 10 minutes late. Please remember that appointment times are an estimated time of arrival.

It is highly encouraged to book future appointments ahead of time. I recommend booking a standing appointment so that you secure the day and time that works best for you each month. Most of the time, unless there is a cancellation, I am booked up to 4 to 6 weeks in advance depending on the time of year. I will always book on a first come, first served basis with priority given to currently active clients.

When scheduling through text, private message, email, etc., I will offer you an appointment(s) based on your location and my availability. After I respond with available dates and times, confirmation MUST be received within 24 hours.

For new clients: Your first appointment is not "booked" until the submission of agreement to the policies and procedures as well as a valid credit card to be kept on file for cancellation fee purposes.

Cancellations
I understand that there are times when you might have to cancel and reschedule an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. I get it, life happens! However, cancellations less than 48 hours before an appointment prevent other members of our furry family, especially those on the waitlist, from an opportunity to book that time slot. In addition, last minute cancellations and not being home/not answering the door (no show) for an appointment greatly affects the financial livelihood of any groomer or pet care professional. Out of respect for both myself and others, please give as much advance notice as possible if you need to reschedule your appointment.

Any cancellation within 48 hours of your appointment time is subject to a cancellation fee. A fee of $25 for the first pet and $5 for each additional pet will be charged. Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card on file. If you have not provided a credit card to be stored on file for this purpose, an invoice will be sent for prompt payment.

“No Shows”: If you are not home when I arrive for your appointment, I will wait for 10 minutes. Attempts will be made to try to make contact by phone or text. An invoice will then be sent via text for a cancellation fee of $25 for the first pet and $5 for each additional pet.

ALL CANCELLATION FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL PRIOR TO RESCHEDULING YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT.

Prepaid Appointments
I reserve the right to discontinue services to you and your pet if you cancel multiple times, refuse services at the door, or have multiple “no shows.” If you wish to continue services in this situation, I will ask that you prepay through Venmo prior to your appointment or prepay using the credit card that I have on file. Prepaid appointments are non refundable, and this appointment cannot be changed. If you have to reschedule, this prepayment is non transferable. In this situation, I may also ask for a deposit to schedule your appointment. This deposit is non refundable and non transferable.

Ashley’s Paws and Claws reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment if I feel the need to do so based on weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Reminder Texts
You should receive a courtesy reminder text 2 days prior to your appointment. Please reply to confirm your appointment. This text will be sent to the phone number that I currently have on file. If I do not have a cell phone number on file, you will not receive a courtesy reminder. Keep in mind that reminder texts are a courtesy and are not guaranteed.

Aggressive Pets
Sometimes, our pets can be grumpy and a bit uncooperative. That is okay! I work with animals with aggressive tendencies quite frequently, and this does not mean refusal of services in most cases.
It is extremely important for the safety of myself, you, and your pet, that I am informed about any aggressive behavior prior to arrival. This allows me to better prepare and make the visit less stressful on your pet.
I reserve the right to discontinue and stop any services that put my safety or your pet’s safety at risk. In the event that the requested services cannot be completed because of a pet’s behavior, payment in full for services is still required.

Vaccinations
Because I service many animals that have unique healthcare needs, I do not require any vaccines except a current Rabies vaccine, which is also required by Pennsylvania law.

In the event that I am bitten by your dog or cat, a copy of their current rabies certificate will need to be presented and kept on file.

Medication/Sedation
I provide services to pets that may need medication provided by their veterinarian. It is important that you inform me if your pet has been given sedatives/meds prior to their appointment. Please follow the instructions from your veterinarian about dosage and timing for medication administration. If you change the dose that is usually given, I need to be made aware before I start any services as this can affect your pet’s behavior.

BY SCHEDULING SERVICES, I (THE CLIENT) AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
Although extreme caution and care is always taken, animals are unpredictable. There is always a risk of cuts, scratches, skin irritation, ear canal irritation or redness, anal gland expression complications, quicked nails, or other unforeseen problems. I, therefore, agree that Ashley's Paws and Claws is not liable for any injury of any kind that may occur in the rendering of services. I, the client, assume full responsibility for any harm, injury, and/or loss that might be suffered by my pet, whether expected/unexpected or foreseeable/unforeseeable.

1. Ashley's Paws and Claws is not responsible for pre-existing medical conditions or the aggravation of those conditions.

2. Ashley's Paws and Claws has the right to refuse service for any reason necessary. If services cannot be performed due to an aggressive pet, not being able to access a pet, or for any other reason, payment for services will still be charged.

3. I will continue to provide information and disclose all medical, behavior, or personality changes that may affect my pet's ability to continue services.

4. I authorize the use of photos of my pet and any written reviews/testimonials for any promotional materials regarding Ashley’s Paws and Claws. All photos taken will not be sold to other parties/websites/Facebook or other social networking media.

5. With the Doggie Lift system, my pet will be suspended above the ground. The harnesses and metal frame are specifically designed for this purpose and are safe. However, please keep in mind that there is always a small risk of malfunction, accident, etc. Ashley's Paws and Claws is not responsible for any injury or further exacerbation of pre-existing conditions caused by the use of the Doggie Lift. Ashley's Paws and Claws is also not responsible for any damages done to the client's home or property caused by proper use of the equipment such as but not limited to chipped paint, dents, cracks, marked walls, scratches, structural damage, etc.

6. I understand that I am responsible for paying a cancellation fee in full before rescheduling of services as outlined in the Policies and Procedures.

7. I understand that I am responsible for providing a valid credit card to be kept on file. I am aware and authorize that this card will be charged for any unpaid services or cancellation fees.
