Appointment Confirmation Notice:

Our booking system sends reminders 1 week before, and again 4 days before the appointment. In order to confirm your appointment you must respond YES to the automated confirmation text. If you need to cancel or reschedule, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required to avoid cancellation fees of up to the full appointment fee. For more information on cancellation fees, refer below to No Shows and Late Appointment Cancellations section

Verification of Vaccination Status and Veterinarian Details:

By this agreement, owners confirm that their pet(s) have up-to-date core vaccines such as rabies, FVCRP (for felines), distemper, and Parvo-Virus vaccinations. Evidence of vaccination or current Titer testing should be made available to Tailored Tails upon request, along with the most recent information regarding their veterinarian. Special situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Pets with Aggressive or Dangerous Behavior: Owners are required to promptly notify Tailored Tails if their dog or cat has a history of biting, nipping, snapping, etc. or demonstrates aggressive tendencies towards people, other animals, or specific grooming and handling procedures. In the rare cases where it is deemed necessary, proper restraints, such as muzzles, may be employed. It's important to note that muzzling, when used appropriately, is a safe practice that safeguards the well-being of your pet and the groomer.
At Tailored Tails, we prefer a patient, gentle approach, coupled with consistent at-home and professional training, to establish enduring positive changes for pets in need of additional support. Please understand that Tailored Tails prefers to avoid muzzling, and retains the right to decline or discontinue services for such pets at any stage of the grooming process. In such instances, an additional fee for behavior management or special handling will be applied, in addition to the standard grooming fee. We prioritize the safety and well-being of all pets, and we want to emphasize that any incidents involving bites will be documented and shared with our team for the safety of our staff and future services.

General Health, Medical Concerns, Declining Health & Senior Companion Animals:

Grooming procedures can occasionally be distressing, especially for senior pets or those with health issues, whether they are acute or chronic in nature. These procedures may uncover or exacerbate pre existing medical conditions, either during or after the grooming process. Due to the increased vulnerability of senior pets and those with health concerns, our primary objective is to ensure their cleanliness and comfort, utilizing grooming methods designed to minimize stress.
In the best interest of your pet, this agreement authorizes Tailored Tails to seek immediate veterinary treatment or access medical information from your veterinarian as necessary. We will make every effort to contact you prior to seeking treatment, and we will transport your pet to your designated veterinarian or the nearest available veterinary facility. It is understood and agreed that all associated expenses for veterinary care will be the responsibility of the pet's owner upon acceptance of this agreement.

Matting Concerns:

Companion animals with matted coats require additional care during their grooming sessions. Mats left unattended in a pet's coat can constrict and hinder circulation, potentially leading to skin bruising, sores, infections, and other complications. At Tailored Tails, we prioritize your pet's well-being and aim to avoid causing unnecessary stress. Consequently, we do not engage in continuous dematting, aligning with our commitment to the principle of humane treatment over cosmetic concerns.
Mat removal can be a challenging, uncomfortable, and potentially a painful process, with some cases necessitating the shaving of the pet's coat. When dealing with matted fur, there is a risk of inadvertent nicks, cuts, or abrasions, especially in areas with warts, moles, or skin folds trapped within the mats. Furthermore, extensive matting can create a conducive environment for moisture retention, urine accumulation, and the growth of mold, fungi, or bacteria, potentially exacerbating pre-existing skin irritations. In severe instances, torn skin from mats can even attract maggots.

Following the removal of severe matting may also lead to or unveil other effects, such as itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, changes in the pet's coat, and potential delays in hair regrowth. Additionally, shaved animals are susceptible to sunburn and should be protected from sun exposure until their fur sufficiently regrows. In some cases, pets may exhibit temporary behavioral changes. Please note that dematting incurs an additional charge.

Prevention is the most effective strategy against matting, so regular grooming appointments are highly recommended. While we make every effort to address matting, we do so with great sensitivity to your pet's comfort. Consequently, a severely matted dog may not achieve the grooming results you might typically expect, as their well-being remains our top priority.

Unforeseen Incidents:

It is important to acknowledge the potential for accidents to occur during the grooming process. Grooming equipment is inherently sharp, and despite our utmost care and vigilance, there is always a risk of issues arising, such as cuts, nicks, or scratches. These incidents are more likely to happen when a pet is restless or in motion.
We are committed to ensuring your pet's safety throughout the grooming session. However, it's essential to recognize that working on a distracted or agitated animal can pose risks. Consequently, we retain the right to terminate the grooming session, even if it is not fully completed.
If you arrive to pick up your pet and find that the grooming is still in progress, we kindly request that you refrain from interacting with your pet or allowing it to see you. It is best to wait quietly or step outside for a brief period to avoid potential excitable distractions in order to maintain a safe grooming environment. We make every effort to prioritize your pet's safety, and it is in the best interest of everyone involved to avoid working on an excited or unsettled pet.

Parasites, Fleas, and Ticks:

If you suspect that your pet may be harboring fleas or ticks, immediate and comprehensive action is essential. In many cases, the most effective treatment is oral flea and tick prevention, which you can acquire through your veterinarian. It's crucial to address these issues promptly, as a flea infestation can lead to conditions such as tapeworms and other health or skin-related problems.
In the event that fleas or ticks are discovered during the grooming process, an additional fee will be applied to ensure the proper treatment of your pet. It's important to note that Tailored Tails refrains from using pesticide dips or sprays on your dog. However, should ticks be identified, they will be safely removed within reason for an additional charge. If there is a substantial amount, we may instead immediately refer you to your veterinarian for oral flea and tick treatment. In the case of tick infestations, we strongly recommend having your dog tested for Lyme disease.
Parasites not only pose a health risk to your dog but also carry the potential to affect humans. This underscores the significance of promptly addressing and managing these concerns.

Release of Liability Agreement: By signing this agreement you (or your Agent) agree to hold Tailored Tails, its owners, franchise owners, affiliates, operators, employees, officers, and directors harmless from any damage, liabilities, financial, and otherwise, loss or claim including but not limited to veterinarian bills arising from any condition of the listed pet(s), either known or unknown, to Tailored Tails or any other property of the Customer, which arise in any way from services and/or products provided by or as a consequence of customers association with Tailored Tails. It is also further understood and agreed that the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will override any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood that this clause appeals to any and all pets groomed at Tailored Tails.

Photography Consent:

I grant permission for my pet(s) and/or myself to be photographed, and I grant Tailored Tails, its employees, agents, or authorized representatives the right to utilize, reproduce, publish, transmit, distribute, and exhibit the aforementioned photograph(s) in Tailored Tails' promotional materials, including displays, advertisements, the website, or other relevant mediums for promotional purposes. These images shall remain the property of Tailored Tails. The utilization of these images is offered voluntarily without any claim to loyalty, and it is not considered as work for hire.

Late Pick-Ups Policy:

It's important to note that we do not offer boarding services. After completion of grooming, pets must be picked up within one hour. If your pet is not collected by our closing time for the day, an additional charge of $50.00 will be incurred. For each subsequent day of delayed pickup, there will be an additional charge of $150.00 per day, in addition to any expenses for food, medication, veterinary, or other necessary care.
In the case of late pickups during holidays or non-business days, the fees will be doubled. Please be aware that full payment for all charges is required at the time of pickup. Tailored Tails reserves the right to arrange for temporary boarding at an external facility, foster home, or another off-site location, incurring additional expenses as necessary.
Abandonment: Kansas Law upholds the welfare of animals and prohibits their abandonment. If any animal is abandoned at Tailored Tails, it will be reported to Animal Protective Services and transferred to local animal control, a humane society, or shelter in compliance with Kansas Law. Such abandonment could result in the owner's relinquishment of all rights and claims to the animal.

No Shows and Late Appointment Cancellations:

In the event of a no-show or a last-minute cancellation with less than 48 hours notice, a fee of of up to 100% of expected appointment costs per pet will be applicable. To secure another appointment, clients may be required to pay the cancellation fee as well as make a nonrefundable 50% deposit in advance, which will be credited toward the next appointment if it is maintained.

We kindly ask for your understanding and consideration of our time, as we operate on an appointment basis. If you have not arrived within 15 minutes of your appointment, you may be considered a no show or late cancellation and a fee may be applied. In some cases, we may be able to offer a partial service for late arrivals with an additional late fee applied to your appointment.

Upon completion of your pet’s groom, they must be picked up within 1 hour or by our closing time for end of day appointments. Late pick ups without prearrangement with your groomer may also incur a fee. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Payment Policy:

We kindly request that payment be settled at the time of service. Tailored Tails offers the convenience of cash, debit, or credit card payment options. On rare occasions when invoicing is necessary, we will securely retain your card details on file for processing. In such cases, the invoice will be processed by the end of the day. If invoice is unpaid by end of day, a late fee of 3.0% will be applied per day.

Please note that our pricing is subject to routine, annual adjustments to accommodate shifts in the economy, inflation, and the cost of grooming materials.
